Clinical Psychologist
Dr Sarah Angel is a fully registered Clinical Psychologist who has owned and operated a private practice at Petrie Terrace, Brisbane for over 25 years. Dr Angel has extensive formal education including a Bachelor’s Degree with Honours in Psychology, a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology and a Doctorate Degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Queensland. She is a fully registered Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with extra area of endorsement as a specialised Clinical Psychologist. Dr Angel is a full member of the Australian Psychology Society (APS), a Fellow of the Clinical College of the Australian Psychology Society (FCCAPS), a member of the Australian and New Zealand Infertility Counsellors Association (ANZICA), a member of the Pacifica Congress, a member of the Child Protection Practitioners Association of Queensland (CPPAQ) and a member of the Family Law Practitioners Association (FLPA). Dr Angel is a founding member and Vice President of the Association of Therapeutic Family Law Professionals (TFLP). Dr Angel is the president for the Child Protection Practitioners Association of Queensland (CPPAQ).
Dr Angel sees general clinical treatment clients at her practice with a range of psychological presentations including Substance Abuse Disorders and Personality Disorders. In addition to this, her practice area of clinical specialty and expertise is child and family matters, following parental separation. Dr Angel regularly prepares Family Reports, acts as a Child Consultant for Child Informed Mediations (CIMs), provides family therapy, engages with families requiring re-unification therapy and provides individual therapy for children and parents in separated families. Dr Angel has developed and implements a unique and effective program for assisting rejected parents and children through reunification therapy based on empirical research and clinical practice. Dr Angel is child focused in her approach to family matters and considers that she “works” for the children of separated families to ensure they are afforded the opportunity to establish and maintain a meaningful relationship with each parent in a healthy and appropriate manner.
